She is described as a woman who exudes warmth, is full of life, and whose energy and zest can light up a room. She is an extrovert "whose never met a stranger", a lover of people, and has been told that she creates family wherever she goes. Her spontaneous, full belly laughter is a part of the memories that have been created over the years. She loves to travel and has an insatiable thirst for learning. She is happiest spending time with family, good friends, her fur babies, and reading a good book. She ran her first half marathon at age sixty and by the time she was sixty-five she had completed another half marathon and two Army Ten Miler races.

At seventy she enjoys swimming, riding her e-bike, and exercising.
